True Benchmarks.
Price Transparency.
OUR REPORT
Sceats-Utility.Report (SUR) publishes the first independent, consumer-usable benchmark prices for commercial electricity, gas, and water in Great Britain.
For the first time, commercial and industrial consumers have a clear reference for what utilities actually cost, once wholesale prices, network charges, supplier margins, and regulatory levies are combined. Until now, no such benchmarks have existed for the GB commercial market.
Sceats-Utility.Report is published mid-month, with the inaugural edition released in January 2026.
Beyond Benchmarks
SUR’s mission extends beyond publishing prices.
Over time, the report aims to bring transparency to contractual and commercial features of utility supply that materially affect what consumers pay, but are rarely well understood. These include:
Payment terms and credit periods
Consumption Tolerance And Volume Swing
Intermediary And Broker Commissions Embedded Within Contracts
By making these elements observable and comparable, SUR seeks to turn complexity into clarity.
Editorial Perspective
“After three decades in wholesale energy and a decade advising utility consumers, I’ve seen how far retail pricing has drifted from the markets it claims to reflect, and indeed how far the market’s brokers/advisors have drifted from integrity.
Sceats Utility Report, alongside our integrity-led broker Grand-Union.Net, is a direct response to that disconnect.”
